Description

Taking her inspiration from the forms, textures and colours of the Scottish coast and sea, Fiona makes her jewellery from recycled metal. She works primarily with silver clay, which is composed of tiny particles of recycled silver with a plant-based binder. It can be sculpted and molded into forms.

After it has dried, it is sanded/filed and then fired using a blowtorch or kiln. The firing process burns off the binder and the remaining particles of silver sinter together to form a solid silver (fine 999) object.

She also uses traditional silversmithing techniques and is currently experimenting with bronze and fusing gold into silver.

Prices vary from £40 to £95.
